Heather Cannon grew up riding horses at her family home in Parrish, Florida and at Deseret Ranch where she spent many summers with her family. She was blessed to spend 2 years along side 3 large animal vets, at their small animal office, and had the opportunity to learn so much from the very best in the county. She is passionate about Florida’s rodeo and agriculture industries, and finds it important to share their rich history . She is the owner of Women In Rodeo, previously a
photography/videography and marketing company. Heather is currently on the Board of Directors for Miss Rodeo Florida and donates her time to MRF and the Florida FFA Organization which includes, serving as a judge for Pageants and FFA contests.
Heather’s business has transformed several times over the last 10 years. She started out on a local level as a Western Wear Fashion Consultant, but her business quickly grew into something she never saw coming. She found herself working with the Silver Spurs Rodeo and RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo conducting sideline interviews for Women In Rodeo. Shortly after she created her very own radio show on Horse Radio Network growing it to over 16k listeners. This experience helped her to focus on one of her passions... videography, marketing and promotions while educating and empowering Women In Rodeo.
Heather’s childhood dream was to be a large animal vet but that never came to fruition. In 2021 her youngest daughter, Ciara, started her rodeo journey with Florida Little Britches Rodeo Association. She began to see the need for equine sports massage therapy within the industry after seeing the level these equine athletes compete at and the stress it has on their bodies. After a couple years of research and speaking with a veterinarian she decided to pursue a career as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist. Her long-term goal is to offer a full range of therapy services to prepare your equine partner for their next event, setting them up for optimum performance. She is beyond excited to finally work closely with the horses she loves so much through Equine Sports Massage.
Through Women In Rodeo, Heather taught women in the industry to design a life of passion, patience and perseverance to ultimately define what success means to you. She feels she has finally found the perfect complement to her Women In Rodeo business and fully embraced her Passion. Heather plans to continue to give a voice to Women In Rodeo by sharing their stories, struggles and wins on her social media pages through posts and interviews. She plans to relaunch the Women In Rodeo Show later this year.
Outside of work, much of her time is spent with her husband Darrin, and their two daughters, Savannah and Ciara. She strives to live her life... God First, Family Second and Career Third. When she’s not with her family, you can find her at a rodeo.
Heather's goal is to make sure your equine partner performs optimally at your next event. She knows an educated mind & hands make the difference between a “feel good rub” and a professional equine sports massage therapy session. She focuses on treating the root cause of the pain and not just the symptoms. Your horse is in good hands with Heather.
